Comic Book Making Contest 2024

Kids and Teens are invited to make their own comic book and submit them to the Salinas Public Library.  Running from April 22, 2024 – June 29, 2024, Salinas Public Library’s Comic Book Making Contest is open to kids and teenagers from the Monterey County. Prizes and art supplies will be awarded to the winners.

Adult Programs

Adult DIY Take-Home Kits 

Assemble your own project creation.  We will supply the materials and instructions. You provide the imagination. 
Take Home kits will be distributed at 4 PM at all three libraries. While supplies last.

Can I read to reduce fines accrued on another person’s account?

A parent or caregiver may read to a child, thereby reducing the fees on the child’s account (not the parent’s). Otherwise, no, you must read away the fees on your own account and cannot reduce the fees of other cardholders.

Do I have to read a book to receive credit, or can I watch a movie, listen to music, or surf the web, instead?

Only reading material qualifies for credit, but that means more than just books — you can also read
