What are the Digital Arts Stations?

Located on the 2nd floor at El Gabilan Library, the Digital Arts Stations are specialized computers optimized for graphic design, 3D modeling, video and audio editing, and other creative endeavors. There are two iMacs loaded with a slew of creative software available for reserved or walk-in use.

Who can use the Digital Arts Stations?

The Digital Arts Stations are open to any patron with a library card and are available for use during El Gabilan Library’s open hours. A mouse and keyboard for use with a computer must be checked out with staff at the upstairs reference desk; bringing your own mouse or keyboard is not permitted. A Digital Arts Station can be reserved for up to two hours at a time, once per library user per day. Like other computers available to the public, the Digital Arts Stations can be used up until 15 minutes before closing time.

A tutorial for Adobe Creative Cloud is also available on the Salinas Public Library Academy, with tutorials on other software to be added in the future. Additionally, there are many tutorials and instructional videos available on YouTube and other sites.
